Bitcoin for the Arts

The Dispatch

THE RALLY POINT.

Dear sovereign renaissance,

A different kind of dispatch this week. Bitcoin Arts Park at the Midwest Bitcoin Summit is eight weeks out, and every open door BFTA has right now is in this letter. Plus a speaker announcement we are thrilled to share. Read the sections that apply to you, sign up where you can, forward this to one person who might. That is the whole ask this week.

Four open doors. Eight weeks.

Load-in Tuesday, September 22. Show days Wednesday, September 23 and Thursday, September 24. Load-out Thursday evening. Greater Columbus Convention Center. If you have been thinking about being part of it, this is the week to take the step.

1. Volunteer with us

Five volunteer seats. Booth support, stage and audio, videography and documentation, wherever needed. Free conference admission for the days you work, BFTA event gear, meals during shifts, on-camera credit in the produced recap, and a written reference letter available on request. Sign up at bitcoinforthearts.org/midwest/volunteer.

2. Sponsor a piece of it

The eight-tier sponsorship structure remains open, from a Featured Artist Stipend at $500 to Presenting Sponsor at $25,000. In-kind contributions welcome across booth construction, video and photo production, backline gear, and hospitality. Our target for Bitcoin Arts Park is $80,000 or more. Reply to this email or visit bitcoinforthearts.org/midwest.

3. Contribute in sats on Geyser

Geyser Fund Prefer sats over dollars? The Bitcoin Arts Park Midwest campaign is live on Geyser Fund. Any amount, any wallet, no intermediaries. Contribute at geyser.fund/project/bitcoinforthearts.

4. Book Lindey's homeschool book reading

We are working with Columbus-area homeschool families to organize a live reading of Lindey Magee's Seuss-style children's book Bitcoin: A Treasure to HODL at Bitcoin Arts Park. Every child in attendance receives a signed hardcover, at no cost to the family. If you lead a Columbus-area homeschool co-op, or know a family who does, reply to this email and we will hold seats.

◆ BFTA Artist Directory

Working artists, add your name.

The BFTA Artist Directory is the running database of working artists across every discipline who support the BFTA mission and want the organization's resources, updates, and opportunities routed to them directly. Signup takes about three minutes. It is free.

If you are a working artist, add your name. The more of us on the list, the more the movement looks like what it actually is.

◆ The Sovereign Circle

Fund the movement, monthly.

Bitcoin For The Arts is entirely donor-funded. The Sovereign Circle is our monthly giving program, and it is how we keep the lights on between grants, sustain Share Your Bitcoin Journey, and keep Bitcoin Arts Park moving forward. Any recurring amount, direct to the org, cancel anytime. Bitcoin for the arts, on a Bitcoin standard.

Monthly patronage is how art has always been sustained. Now the rails have changed. The pattern has not.

◆ If You Missed Them

Every episode. Every essay.

Share Your Bitcoin Journey. All twelve episodes of the podcast are live, from Andrea Arghinenti in Episode 1 through Philip Charter in Episode 12. Painters, filmmakers, choreographers, authors, animators, embroiderers, and ghostwriters, each finding their own path through Bitcoin. Browse the full catalog artist by artist at bitcoinforthearts.org/stories.

The BFTA Substack. Long-form articles on the arts, sound money, and where the two collide. Recent pieces on Broadway's closing musicals, arts funding, and the case for artistic sovereignty. Read the archive at bitcoinforthearts.substack.com.

The Throughline This Week

You do not have to build the movement alone. You just have to sign up for the part that is yours.

Every big thing BFTA has ever done started with someone reading a letter like this one and choosing a door. Volunteer. Sponsor. Donate. Add your name. Book a reading. Send us a person. Any one of those is a full contribution. Do the one that fits, and let us do the rest.

Until next time.
